Character or Environment Concept Artist

The Wiri Project is looking for two short-term independent contractors to produce concept art, including character and/or environment concepts, for a video game technical showcase focusing on generative emotive character movement. You’ll be regularly meeting with an exciting interdisciplinary team of academics, postgraduate students, and research assistants to discuss progress and updates. This will involve the generation of and iteration on ideas, with great opportunity for creativity. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Create concept art for 5-7 characters, with iterations, or

  • Create concept art for 3-6 environment concepts and items, with iterations.

  • Attend a weekly meeting with the team to provide updates, discuss progress and iterate on feedback. (can be online)

  • Preferred knowledge and experience of using Tikanga Māori concepts in creative work.

 

This position offers a fixed rate of $1,875 for 60 hours of work beginning from when positions are filled and lasting for approx. a one-month period.
